The Centre for Promotion of Science organizes 2-week
introductory courses on Computers and their Role in Teaching for school
teachers. The intent is to present to the school teachers the
compelling evidence of the power of computerized education and the
possibility of how they can use these to enhance the quality of their
teaching and, together with other concerned citizens, propel schools to
make use of computers so that schooling becomes more enjoyable and
supremely effective for the children. |

The instructors have an interactive approach and
informal attitude, since we feel that this helps the participants
benefit most from such programmes. There is greater emphasis on the
practical aspects, in fact, the ratio of lecture to practical components
is 2:3. Lecture notes and synopses are also made available to the
participants, quite often in advance. |
